For this performance assessment, student will be dissecting an owl pellet to see what the owl eats in an ecosystem. Students will then analyze the pellet's contents to determine the animal that was in the pellet and how much energy the owl gained from it. Students will then determine how much energy was available from each organism in the ecosystem and how much did the owl gain from all of them.
